Bastion has secured two contracts for the supply, install, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage Services worth RM6.5M, sending its orderbook to RM76M.
The first contract, Solasta Dutamas with a value of RM3.8M, awarded by YNH Construction Sdn Bhd. Solasta Dutamas is a family-friendly luxury residence with quaint, comfortable homes, offering great value to residents in the Dutamas, Mont Kiara vicinity. This contract will commence on 1st January 2023 and are expected to be completed by 1st quarter of 2026.
The second contract, Tropicana Metropark, valued at RM2.7M, awarded by LTI Engineering Sdn Bhd. Tropicana Metropark will include residential towers, office space, retail lots, a shopping mall, hotel, entertainment hubs, and an education hub. This contract will commence on 5th December 2022 and are expected to be completed by 4th quarter of 2024.
Bastion has conducted its second team building session in Tioman Island Malaysia on July 2022. The goal is to encourage employees to work together more effectively while also building relationships with one another.
Bastion believe "Teamwork is the glue which keeps a team together, a bond which promotes strength, unity, reliability and support." This team building has successfully creates awareness for teamwork among the Bastion staff and devoted to achieving self-empowerment as individuals and as a team to reach new heights and create new paradigms in working relationships. No one can get successful without teamwork.
The company has managed to secure a new contract, Hyatt Regency Hotel from Hap Seng Group to supply, install, testing, commissioning and maintenance of ICT and Security Package, for a total value of RM15.4 million. The project has commenced this month and are expected to be completed by 1st quarter of 2024.
In addition, Bastion has also secured a contract, Conrad Kuala Lumpur from Binatex Sdn Bhd to supply, install, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Electrical and RCU (Remote Control Utility) Package, for a total value of RM11.1 million. The contract will commence on 3rd quarter of 2022 and are expected to be completed by 1st quarter of 2024.
With these new wins, Bastion has successfully increase its outstanding order book to approximately RM70 million that would keep the company busy over the next two years and contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of the Company for the financial years ending July 31, 2023, and 2024.
We see our recent wins as a testament of the strong synergy formed with Hap Seng group which only reinforced our position as a leading ICT and ELV contractor. We are glad that our solid track record has consistently enabled us to secure contracts from existing and new clients, said managing director Simon Phang.
We will continue to bring our expertise to these two projects, constructing them safely, efficiently and sustainably in order to successfully deliver these projects for our clients. Meanwhile, we will continue to stay focused on delivering our existing projects, while actively pursuing tenders for quality projects, he added.
The company is eyeing another RM20 million in terms of tenders this coming years.
Bastion continues to meet customer needs and expectations through its offering and enhancing efficiency in area of ELV, ICT and BSS following the signing of a government-related contract agreement with Binatex Sdn Bhd for the supply and install of ICT, BSS, Voice and AV System for Economic Affairs Ministry at Menara Prisma, Precinct 3, Putrajaya. The contracts are expected to be completed within 8 months by July 2021.
Another contract, awarded by Securities Commission Malaysia on November 2020, is an enterprise network upgrading work for their HQ and DRC networks which inclusive of 3 years maintenance supports. The contract will commence on 31st March 2021.
Bastion having to secure these two government-related contracts totaling RM7.8 million is a plus for Bastion as the company is mostly working on private jobs, said managing director Simon Phang. Nevertheless, these new contracts are expected to contribute positively to the company’s earnings for the financial year ending 2021.
Bastion has shown strong growth and is set to continue this momentum of growth throughout 2021. Bastion would also strive to secure public jobs in the coming year.
Having secured the RM5.5 million ELV contract for the PDH Phase 1 mixed development project for ELV works, Bastion total has been bagged RM 16.5 million for Phase 1 & Phase 2 14 million on PDH project. BASTION will provide Pavilion Damansara Heights Phase 2 on Building Security System (BSS), Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and Telecommunication System (ICT) as well.
These contracts will boost the company financial year-to-date new contract wins to RM62 million and helped to sustain its outstanding order book at RM85 million.
The two-phase Pavilion Damansara Heights project is targeted for completion in 2023. The entire projects cover an area of over 15.84 acres and comprise 10 office blocks, five towers with 1,968 serviced apartments and 240 hotel rooms, and a five-story retail podium.
In view of Bastion’s current strong order & tender book. Bastion managing director Mr. Simon Phang said the company remains on track to achieve its RM100 million order book target for FY2020.
BASTION started its Financial Year Ending July 31, 2020 (FY2020), with a strong first half of Aug 1 to Jan 31, 2020 (1HFY2020), came amid of 90.3% improvement in revenue to RM 13 million as compared to first half of FY2019 (1HFY2019), RM 6.83 million.
In this fiscal year, BASTION has been awarded new contracts worth of RM 37 million from Sunway, Global Oriental & Malton Group. The projects include
The contracts involve the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Extra Low Voltage (ELV), Carpark Management and Parking Guidance System (PGS). BASTION expects the contracts to contribute positively towards its future earnings and net tangible assets for the financial year ending July 31, 2020 (FY20) and thereafter, for the duration of the contract.
In addition, BASTION also awarded 2 years maintenance contract for Sunway Pyramid Mall, Sunway Giza Mall and Sunway Velocity Hotel for CCTV, PA and SMATV System service maintenance.
The company now has outstanding work orders of RM 60 million including newly secured contracts of RM 37 million, which it said will provide good earnings visibility for the next three years. The ongoing projects include KL Ecocity, Pavilion Damansara Heights, the Park 2, Pavilion Bukit Jalil Mall, Pavilion Ceylon Hills Residences, Sunway Grid M4, Sunway Geo Lake, Sunway Citrine Lakehomes, Setia Seraya Putrajaya, amongst others. As of today, the ongoing projects deliver the expected value on time and within budget.
To date, BASTION has submitted tenders for several huge potential projects worth up to RM 80 million. These tenders expected to be finalized by Q3, 2020. BASTION stands a good chance to secure these contracts as BASTION has a proven track record of excellence from their past successful projects and on-going projects. On Nov 24, over 50 Bastion team members and their families put on their running shoes and running T-shirts to jog for a charity in Charity Fun Run & Walk at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, Laman 2, Serdang organized by A Piece of Hope (APOH). Bastion team joined over 1,000 other runners who participated in the charity run.
The day is even more special as Simon Phang, Managing Director of Bastion led the team in the APOH Charity Run flag off for 3 consecutive years. In the run, we encouraged each other, we faced the challenge together, and we laughed together – because of this we all were winners in the end! And, of course, raising over RM120,000 for a worthy charity like APOH was its own reward. We look forward to building on this camaraderie and charity donation in future runs and events. A total of RM120,000 collected from the event was given to three non-governmental organisations, namely Desa Amal Jireh, Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang Selangor (PKIK) and Rumah Victory.
APOH is a non-profit campaigning vehicle managed by volunteers that raises funds for underprivileged children.
Bastion Systems recently arranged an exciting and fun-filled outdoor recreational activity celebration, in which all Bastion employees were invited to participate and have delightful experiences.
This 3D2N Adventure Teambuilding 2019 was held at Selesa Hill Homes & Golf Resort, Bukit Tinggi, 4th-6th May to enrich team-building skills among the Bastion staff.
This event allows the hard-working, passionate and determine employees to relax and cheer with numerous outdoor and indoor fun activities.
Bastion’s Managing Director Simon Phang said; “It is grateful to see Bastion employees from different departments participating in different recreational and sporting activities with a team-building spirit, strive to maintain friendly and heartfelt relations among themselves, by coming together as one big Bastion family”.
An interactive session was also held on that fun-filled day to enhance the communication and team-building skills of the employees.
More than 300 people attended the Bastion CNY Reunion Dinner at Sheraton Hotel Petaling Jaya on 18 January 2019.

In conjunction with the World Cerebral Palsy Day on the 6th October, 2018, Lovely Disable Home has organized a second successive charity run, namely “Run for a Chance 2018” at the CITTA Mall, Ara Damansara from 6.30am to 10am. This year, the run was supported by a local singer and radio host, Ms Mei Sim as a Run Ambassador. She will be running together with the participants during the day to grace the event.
Bastion Systems was very honoured to be part of the event to create community awareness about Cerebral Palsy and intellectual disabilities . Apart from this, Run for a Chance 2018 also provide an avenue for the public to have a better understanding of the socks merchandize created by the Lovely Disabled Home.Since 2015, Lovely Disabled Home has created its own socks and packaging works to be done by the members themselves.The center hope that this will bring a stable working opportunities for the members and enhance the value of their life.
Through packaging a pair of socks, it creates a CHANCE for the disabled members, which is why the theme of the charity run is called “Run for A Chance”.
Founded in 2005, Lovely Disabled Home is a non-governmental organization and non-profit disabled center. Entering into its 13th year, the center carry its purpose to provide employment opportunities for people with Cerebral Palsy and intellectual disabilities. In the recent years, the number of members working at the center has increased from the initial 6 to 58. As the center see the needs for such centers to continue to play its role for the disabled communities, the center continue to organize this Charity Run raise fund for its annual operating expenses of 2019.

The SME100 Awards is organised by SME magazine, with support from Small and Medium Enterprises Associations (SAMENTA), CTOS, and KPMG. The Award identifies and recognises Malaysia’s fast-moving SMEs with a focus on growth (turnover, profit and market share) and resilience (best practices, sustainability and vision).
Award recipients are selected from almost a thousand candidates. They are scored using the proprietary SME100 Scorecard, and the scores audited by KPMG. This results in a data-driven judging methodology, free from the subjective opinions of a judging panel.
